Her name means "Gazelle."

Sabia Books is currently a full time Research Associate in Human Resources and Child Development (aka Mother) in Seattle, Washington. She graduated in December of 1998 from the University of Wyoming with her BFA in Theatre--mostly doing Scenic Design. In February, 2000, she worked with Seattle Comic Opera on a production of Don Pasquale by Donizetti. She refers to it as an experience she's glad to put on her resume-- after all, she's now officially a professional in her field :) --but hopes to be able to avoid working under such circumstances in the future. She is happily married to Joshua (see "The Dragon" link below) and they have two boys, Isaac and Timothy. They decided to pull up roots in Wyoming in June of 1999, and transplanted successfully to Washington, where Sabia hopes to be able to pursue "Theatre Stuff" eventually. Her hobbies include the SCA (Medieval re-enactment group for those of you who don't know. Visit them at www.sca.org!), reading vociferously, sewing and embroidery, drawing (and other "artsy stuff"), and learning about computers (in particular, web design). She likes to play computer games as well as other games, and is building up quite a repertoire of children's songs, too.

As for the "Gazelle" part of her name:

"Where did you get your name?" and "What does 'Sabia' mean, anyway?" are two of the most commonly asked questions for Sabia. It all goes back to when her parents were deciding to have kids. Well, at least to when they were NAMING them. They decided that their names were pretty common for their generation (being "Connie" and "Carl") and since their last name was "Wilson," they thought the kids needed something a little more distinctive to start them off right. Along with that, Carl was taking Hebrew when the oldest was born and he had a lexicon of names that he went through to find names that HE liked and then Connie went through those and the names were narrowed down, and before they knew it they had four kids!! (Just kidding! They waited a while between each of them!) The first they named "Rosha," which means "first" or "princess." Then they had "Sabia," which as you've heard already means "gazelle." After that came "Seth," which means "replacement" and also happens to be a family name. "Joanna," last, but not least, means "house of God" and is also a combination of family names. So now you know the basic story of the names, and if you want to know more about how Seth and Joanna's names came about, you can write me at mamabean@roundthestars.net.
