So I don't get back to writing on this very often... :)

Isaac is five and a half and will start school soon. He's asked for a haircut before school starts, though only to shoulder-length. He loves to read, as well as play--both on and off the computer. He also loves to play board and card games of all sorts. He says he's very excited to be going to school, and that he's excited that we're having a baby. His first reaction when we told the kids was that he wanted a sister. Recently, however, he told me that he sort of hopes we have a boy because he thinks a girl "might be harder." He also told me that he mostly hopes we're having a baby and not an alien--this came after Joshua was joking about the 'alien' in mommy's tummy.

Timothy is three, now, and would love to be big enough to do everything Isaac does. He doesn't understand, yet, why Isaac gets so frustrated with him trying to 'help.' He loves to be read to, and also to play on the computer, though he still needs some help with the mouse. Timothy is also excited that we're having a baby, and he, too, expressed the wish for a sister when we first told them. Since we had an ultrasound and got pictures, he's asked several times to get to see the baby.

Both boys have 'invisible friends' that they play with and share. Their names are John and Carlynne. Isaac frequently plays games with John when no-one else wants to play. His current favorite is Mille Bornes. The other day both boys were playing Duck, Duck, Goose with John and Carlynne. It was fun to watch. :) The boys recently got parafoil kites when we went on our camping trip, and have tried them a couple of times, but the wind hasn't been obliging for them. One of these days we'll hopefully get them to stay up in the air.

Isaac is now four and a half. He still has long hair, but things have progressed past everything being a game. Now only some things are games...the rest is serious ;).
He loves to play and do things on the computer....and still has one of the biggest imaginations I've ever seen. He's constantly coming up with improvements for the games he has...one example of this is in a conversation we had in the car this past winter. Isaac had been playing a version of Pac-man and found it difficult to win because the ghosts were so fast. While we were out later that day he piped up suddenly with "You know what they need to put in Pac-man? They need to put in a gun you can pick up to shoot the ghosts with so you can win the game!" We've decided he's probably going to at least dabble in game development at some point! :)
Isaac also loves to color and draw and is learning to read and write. He has figured out how to write some words simply by sounding them out--and he gets pretty close most of the time! Now if only the English language didn't have such crazy words and rules in it!! :)
One of our favorite shows to watch on PBS is a new one called "Between the Lions." It takes place in a library and has all sorts of things that go on concerning the letter sound(s) of the day. If you want to know more about it, visit the www.pbs.org/kids page and click on the link to the "Between the Lions" page.
We often have to tell Isaac to slow down when he's talking to us...especially when he's telling stories or jokes...but even though his speech isn't the clearest in the world, it's pretty good for a four year old and is constantly improving--and his vocabulary keeps expanding, too. :)

Timothy is almost two now, and still opinionated about everything! Of course, he wants to do everything Isaac does...and is starting to show interest in potty training (YAY!).
His talking is very clear considering his age. He sometimes confuses words, like when he called our friend Alison "Elephant," but at this point that's not purposefully done. :)
Moth, too, likes to draw.....especially when Mommy and/or Isaac are. He also loves to tell jokes. His best joke so far is as follows:
Moth:"Knock, knock."
Mommy:"Who's there?"
Moth:"In!"
Mommy:"In, who?"
Moth:"Out!"
He picked up the telling of jokes from his big brother...go figure. :)

Life at our house is interesting, to say the least! I'm glad I get to watch and help them grow instead of having to put them in daycare so I can work. We're thinking about preschool for Isaac for next year, but haven't decided anything definite about it, yet. I still find it tough to believe that in another year he'll be ready to go to kindergarten!

Isaac is three and a half--to be four in February, 2000. He is often mistaken for a little girl because he has long hair like his Daddy does. However, he was mistaken for a girl when he had no hair because he is so cute, too, so don't let yourself think he just needs a haircut! Everything is a "game" right now, including the race to get to the laundry room first. He has started letting Mommy win sometimes, and isn't trying to race his brother, yet--we're just waiting until that happens!

Timothy is one--to be one and a half in February, 2000. He's a cutie, too, and as opinionated as is possible, especially when it comes to mealtimes. So far he sticks up for his big brother and wants to do everything Isaac does. We call him "Moth" when we shorten his name so that we don't get him confused with all of the other "Tims" we know.
